That was a righteous disemvowelling on the Roberta McCain thread. I hate it when people say that they want to die before getting old or wrinkly. I wish we could somehow let them croak and designate their leftover decades so that my wonderful wrinkly mom and grandma can live forever.

Comment of the day? (It's by Treecut, I think in crappy hour: "I'm normally not a media basher, mostly because I stick to NPR, PBS and Comedy Central for my news. When I tune in, I am shocked by the crap that passes as news today, and I really think cable news has devolved from being part of the Fourth Estate, servicing society, to being pure, base entertainment that is driving political debate into the ground."
Brilliant, starting with "I am shocked...".

The geneticist you mentioned sounds like he's doing amazing work. I hope you'll give the editors a heads-up when the research gets published so they can post on it. Thanks for the information (and all the best to you and your relatives, of course).

Aww. I was just looking for a way to delete my Jezebel profile forever and ever when I read your message, and am having something of a change of heart.

Yes, Jill is a genius. As much as a woman who convinces her husband he is terminally ill in order to seduce her wheelchair-bound neighbour's own spouse before running off with a rich simpleton who describes his personality as 'Scottish' can ever be described as a genius.

Have you ever watched Snuff Box? That's my latest obsession.

Can you imagine the fashion sense their children would have? They would dress like a stripper Willy Wonka with an emo fetish.

You're a fine human being. Re: Trolly McT (his rap name, obs ;>)seriously, I don't understand what motivates these people. There's no attempt on their part to converse, they just want to be assclowns. Oh well, it takes all kinds, I guess. Thanks for your ceaseless vigilance!

SisterMaryMartha on Aug 8, 2008

Please don't spank me! I replied with an explanation. I meant that her hair looks ratty, but I said it rather meanly...

andBegorrah on Aug 6, 2008

I was just thinking about that epic thread you started. Service-y to the point of telepathy you are.

Meg on Aug 6, 2008

Thanks for the link! Very funny, and I plan to read the whole way through, once I'm done being an idiot.

KittenFluff on Aug 6, 2008

I don't know if you can ban someone for being a rape apologist, but I think it creates a hostile environment for those women who have been sexually assaulted, and this is supposed to be a safe space.

I don't envy your job, Hortense :-(.

Here you are, it's just a mention of the McCain Abba parodies, and I'm pretty sure that was ineffable.me's:

We didn't cross paths very much today, and I felt the poorer for it.

Buttersemmel on Jul 29, 2008

Seriously? I mean, what, does this other person have a monopoly on the name or something?

I'll change it again, but I think the name as it stands now is pretty clearly not the same as before.

Buttersemmel on Jul 29, 2008

I changed my name. Hope this helps clear up any confusion.

TexasCrude on Jul 28, 2008

Comment of the week: andBegorrah: Oh man, it's the worst on a hot summer night when that huge bright yellow arrow develops on your shoulder and you don't have any anti-cliparterant in your purse.

It was, there was a bigger crowd than I expected for the 11 a.m. show. There were a lot of little touches that were great, really just a terrific way to spend a few hours.

Also, Maggie G. = <3 it's really too bad.

It was a totally good idea to go fob off work and see Batman, you are my hero.
